  • which musicians are playing in this video?

  • @foreversaved Actually the milonga is the precursor of tango, first there was milonga and then came tango and vals was adapted, as you well said, from the European dance! There are three rythms to tango, from quickest to slowest: milonga (2X4), vals (3X4) and tango itself (4X4).

  • It is a "tango vals" - a tango written in vals meter - in triple rather than duple or quadruple time. Tangueros call this "vals" when referring to the type of tango, just like "milonga" is a type of tango. The history DOES stem from the waltz. Back in the day "proper" ladies would not dance tango because it was being too "close," but all social dances would typically begin with a waltz, so bands incorporated the meter to "trick" them to coming onto the floor to dance.

  • esto es tango , no vals¡¡¡¡¡

  • yay Mariela, that was great!

  • beautiful, lyrical dance...

  • Which band performs this version of Desde el Alma?
