  • It's amazing how wonderfully calm Horowitz is in this slow 2nd movement. Just a half hour earlier he was caught up in nasty New York traffic, and arrived late. The audience was filled with people who had been waiting patiently, some all night. His managers were frantic thinking he might not show. He himself was very nervous. He hadn’t performed in public for 13 years. One can almost sense a slow relief-release of pent up energy in audience and performer alike. He was a remarkable artist.

  • Without doubt master Horowitz's iterpretation BWV 564 is outstanding, however , if this adagio speaks to your soul , check out Gyorgy Sebok..!. I rest my case.

  • He plays the easier ossia at the end...

  • I applaud and give him flowers.

  • belíssimo

  • curiously I prefer Gyorgy Sebok - Bach-Busoni - Adagio from BWV 564 (also on you tube ) for his simplicity ..... and don't Bach have to be simple ????

  • Et concernant G SEBOK ???

    on you tube

  • if only we had a video of him doing this. :)

  • ...GRANDIOSO!
