Lame. Haters gonna hate I guess.

Who ever made this video is a moron. I'm a volunteer firefighter on a dept that is busier than the three closest paid depts and they actually train with us for extrication's because we have excelled so much. I'm also a medic in a close by city, one busy enough that I get almost 10 codes a week. Don't sit there and say volunteers are idiots, my volunteer dept could probably teach you a thing or two.

This is just a lame attempt at ad-homineum attacks. If someone has the temerity to go through a rescue course so that someone nearby has a snowball's chance in hell of surviving if they collapse in the desert, I say more power to them. I'll take a volunteer who knows CPR over a 30 minute response time any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

This stuff though funny is crap. Paid emergency workers need to stop bashing volunteers.

Seems like when I worked in the ER or as a Chief Officer for a paid department I was ok. I show up as a volunteer I became a moron. I have seen volunteer departments that made paid departments look like The Three Stooges. It's not if you are paid, part time, or volunteer. It is your character, training, and the functioning of your department as a whole that makes the difference. I have seen paid firefighters and EMS workers act just like this representation of a volunteer.

A paycheck isn't a substitute for brain cells. There are great EMS providers for both paid and volunteer agencies. And there are retards in both realms as well. How good you are all depends on how good you want to be.
