they shut down Minnesota so now the state lottery (brings in 1-2M a week) is shut down the parks (brings in 1M a week) is closed and no hunting/fishing is allowed the construction projects to reduce congestion are all not being built and the poor who got subsidized child care (for both parents working) is closed and foodshelfs are not getting funds for transit of donated food thats shut down oh and shelters for the needy they shut down to! BUT THANK GOD THE RICH ARNT GETTING TAXED MORE!!!!!! :)

Repubs had total control for years leading up to the crisis. Dems gained control of the house and senate in 2007 - later that year, the bubble burst, but it was a bubble created for YEARS leading up to Dems taking control.

This fight is COMPLETELY about ideology. 5 million women get basic health services from PP - cancer screenings, physicals, etc. They do NOT get abortions on federal money.

Republicans are just evil - that’s about all that can be said.

Believe me the only Fed Employees who who make $60,000 or more a year are either professionals who would make more in the private sector, or gov. employees who are professionals or in management who have worked for the government for 20 or more years. Many federal workers across the nation make less than $40,000 dollars a yr, & after 30 yrs of service may never even get to $50,000 a yr. The media lies & our congress don't defend the public employees because they see us as an easy target.

Using public money to fund the slaughter of babies is illegal. Funding for Planned Parenthood should not be included in the budget. The fight is not about "women's health" it is about killing children.

Check out how the debt ballooned during Obama's short time in office. Please recall that Democrats were in charge of the House and Senate (and thus the purse strings) before the recession hit. Some Republicans were involved, and we are trying our best to clean up the Republican party so they stop acting like Democrats. I don't hold any hope that Democrats can reform themselves; they have to go.

The republicans promised to filibuster the budget last year. Remember then screaming that a lame duck Congress shouldn't pass anything.  This is more republican effort to attack social issues rather than fiscal issues. Observe that the repubs now say they won't support any bill that doesn't defund Planned Parenthood. This is about forcing social change for them.

Are you suggesting the repubs are the responsible ones after they cut taxes, started wars and crashed our economy thereby driving us into a recession and exploding the debt? Brilliant. Then they acted to block any congressional action to fix this mess via filibuster and now you say they are the responsible ones. Very clever. And not terribly honest.
