Short Break from the Automated PM-Orbo and decided to have a go at the Muller Dynamo/Generator Replication.

I need to wind 18 coils using Litz wire, so made up the bobbins this weekend and set about altering the PM-Orbo Rig so it can wind coils for me.

Came out pretty good, I probably could have added about 4 more turns on the coil in the video because as the layers built up the strands were spreading out a bit.

But the machine will be re-calibrated for the litz wire, so I can get as many turns as I can onto the small bobbins.

You can follow the Muller replication thread over at my forums

  • Could you affix a sponge to create drag against one side of your wire spool so that it could go faster without the slack problem? I guess you're done with them now anyway, eh?

  • O yeah! Loving it! Grate work! ~Russ
