  • The Alert Mode music was very haunting, and that is exactly why I liked it so much. It meant even more to me when it came during PDII, since I love big winter storms.

  • Before NBC got the Weather Channel, they didnt talk bout so called global warming as much as they do now. NBC love glabal warming, climate change or whatever its being called now... I lived through Lili in New Iberia.

  • Back before NBC ruined the Weather Channel, nostalgic. Lili was a dodged bullet.

  • @Intelliguy I miss Dennis Smith... he and Mike Bono used to be my favorite OCMs.

  • Hurricane Lili was when the Weather Channel went into Storm Alert mode for the first time

  • There is a new website dedicated to returning Dave to the Weather Channel, with feedback links for execs at NBC/Universal and The Weather Channel:

  • I remember when they went into Storm Alert in 2004, some of the OCM's still mistakenly called it Alert Mode.

  • I hear ya, the new one is to dramatic... "Dahh-bum-bum-bum-digagagagagaga
