We stayed there in September and it was great but they liked to charge like wounded rhinos for extras.

Ah, you will love it! Hawaii is amazing. As soon as you step off the plane, the air is so fragrant. The Kahala isn't the best spot for meeting people if you're traveling solo, but I highly recommend the Dolphin Quest encounter...and you can watch them at any time. Very beautiful. Most vistors there are rich Japanese, celebrities, and couples.
Best part of Waikiki beach is is in front of the Outrigger on the Beach.
Duke's, at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, is a fun place to meet people.
