I'm posting this one as a belated response to some messages posted on the Oldies Music Board at www.oldiesboard.com in regards to Dee Dee Sharp's version of the song. The discussion at the time involved an alternate take of Dee Dee's song and whether or not what was appearing on cd was correct to the original 45. Anyway, I was at a record show in Knoxville, TN back in February 2010 when one seller put on this 45. I thought it was good but the seller was trying to tell me it was some $100 record that was sought after by girl group collectors... I told him I'd pay $10 and he declined and I went on my way. I went home and found it online for a little bit more than that, which isn't bad, and this cover version isn't bad either. I have a hunch Mary Sue may have also recorded for HIT records out of Nashville and that Giant may be a Nashville label, possibly even connected to HIT in some way. The original version of this by Dee Dee Sharp, by the way, made it to #9 in 1962. This version could've been bought at the time for 39 cents or 3 for a dollar, according to the stamp on the flip side label. The flip side, by the way, is Johnny Holiday's version of Pat Boone's Speedy Gonzales....and you won't find me posting that side any time soon. You can hear cool tunes like this one live every night at www.topshelfoldies.org! Enjoy!

who is this? it sounds close to Dee Dee Sharp, a copy? I guess, It's not bad though but not Dee Dee Sharp either, by 1962 the practice of putting out popular songs by a variety of artists was almost dead, unlike the way things had been on tin pan alley for generations and we're fading by the early 1950s
