  • Old games are actually challenging. Have you ever play super mario bros? that shits hard!

  • @Bassisbeastiful Tell me about it, I've been playing through Megaman recently, I've beaten 1-4 with absolutely NO save states (the first Megaman has no passwords either) with my PS3 controller plugged into my PC, Megaman 1 is TOUGH, and so is 2 on difficult.

I have a review on my gamespot account, the link is on my channel :)

  • Sorry, I was on a roll. Don't say young kids. It doesn't make you look any older. I call you young kids. Have fun getting worked up from comments, you seem like an angry human being.

  • @NathanicusMaximus You were on a roll? Ok whatever...

How old do you think I am? I was 16 in this video, I'm 18 now, why are you trying to present yourself as some wise old gaming guru? I laugh at comments like this, you think you've got some clout behind your computer screen, when you're commenting on an almost 2 year old video trying to make a point, and you're talking to me as if I'm 12 years old lmao, by the way, hows the band coming along? lmao "Myspace" band, why even bother?

  • @LokizarroX You express your opinions, I express mine. I guess I really got you going, to scout the internet for dirt on me. Do you know what happens when you get older? You watch a video from a 16 year old kid ranting about 'new and old', and think to yourself, 'this kid thinks he can represent the old school community, he wasn't but a twinkle in his father's eye, I've got to say something'. Not that being young is a bad thing. By the way, Castlevania SOTN is awesome if you like old ps1 games.

  • @NathanicusMaximus I know where you're coming from, but you're on one hell of a high horse..

I didn't mean to offend you at all, but you come on here, making assumptions left and right, and because I tell you I play old NES games on an emulator, suddenly my argument is dismissed. Do you have a better suggestion for getting ahold of an NES and original cartridges for less than HUNDREDS of pounds/dollars? didn't think so.

I've heard SOTN is awesome, I'll look into it, thank you.

  • PS2 is my all time favorite system, I definitely prefer older games, cuz of the replay value, and the experience where todays games lack experience and replay value. The only strong point of todays games are graphics and online gaming, not that there's anything wrong with that, but it pisses me off that people make these demands about games of now, that they want it with better graphics and online gaming to make it the best game ever, fucking bullshit. I'm with you on this one dude. PS2 FTW!!!

  • I think you have a lacking of intelligence or respect, you are clearly a stupid modern day gamer who doesn't know jackshit ABOUT video games... do you have a problem with someone else's opinion? looks like it, oh and "blakemore" ? the name seems VERY familiar, stop stalking me and get a damn life you pathetic fucking troll.

  • I remember the games i played when i was a kid , and the quality of those games . Most games nowadays just suck... Most important thing in a game for me is the story and gameplay, graphics wont mean anything to me.

  • ps1 <3 tomb raider 1,2 <3

  • @dragonquester22 good comment. although I myself am (or rather used to be) a PC player :)

  • @BenTennison16 ....I dont hate cod as a game. But the culture surrounding it is absolutely disgusting given the demographics playing these games. I agree also with the replay value. Oh my , games like half-life, Return to Castle wolfenstein etc. - used to love replaying those. Then, recently, I grabbed one of those revived legends - Duke Nukem Forever. All I can say is GROSSLY AVERAGE gameplay if not worse, riding on its former glory. The modern gaming industry is going down...fast.

  • Hey man, i know this video is like 2 yrs old but still relevant. hell more relevant even now i d say !!! First off, I pretty much agree with everything you said. Seriously those fucking 10-12 yr old kids who think that a quality of a game is somehow based on how GRAPHICALLY advanced the game is. According to them (and Im not kidding), they ve said that old games suck because of 'bad' graphics and thats its not CoD. (Personally I dont like cod, have tried it, didnt like though,.....

  • Most newer games do suck, especially if you are not into multiplayer that much.

But there are some decent ones out there for example playing Lost Odyssey right now, not that new but it is very long, has the level grinding irritation level of castlevania games, and is good.

And has a ring system similarish to shadowhearts.

If you have not payed Shadowhearts I suggest it.

Though I will admit most of my game collection is PS1 titles and GBC titles, PS2 as well because I honestly love older games.

  • i grew with the ps1 but man i wish i grew with the older ones 2 man im more interested in the old games than the new ones for some reason 8-bit FTW

  • I'm 13 and I grew up with a SNES. I thought it was the best thing ever. So creative, fun, it was such a joy. When i went to newer games I found some good and most o.k or garbage. I always went back to my SNES and replayed games having fun each time. Up to now I always go back to the classics getting tired of these new games. I honestly think if I had never had classics, I would be the same, average, douchebaggy gamer that most(or some) gamers are.

  • I am 14, and I did start playing video games in the ps1 "ages". I played ps2 for so long also, and it has so many fun and creative games, all with great replay value. I even play SNES. Newer games are not good. All game developers focus on these days are graphics and multiplayer experiences. But where has... the feel of the game gone? The gameplay? The story? The memorable/incredible experiences? And the replayability! I do like some newer games, but I will always miss the way older games were.
