Demolition of the of steam plant in the Penn Coach Yard at 30th street. I shot this for Drexel's DNews. Thanks to CoAS for getting me access to the roof of Disque.

  • @monstrmigit That glass building is the Amtrak headquarters, known in Philly as 30th street station (as you can tell by the rail yard below)

  • I saw an angle FOX 29 shot from the ground on JFK Blvd by Powelton Yard. When the stack hit the ground, the SEPTA overhead catenary did some major bouncing!

  • Ooh I love conspiracy theorists. I was there and saw it, but echoing "TheElementWihtin" Yeah - this is fake. Based on satellite imaging processed by NASA later in the day, it's clear that the shaft was simply rendered and the dust was created with advanced special effects technology. I went by today + saw the shaft standing there as if nothing happened. Amazing stuff.
