The Foo Fighters aren't breaking up! In March 2010, Dave Grohl officially announced that the Foo Fighters are going into the studio (i.e. Dave's basement) this September to record their brand new album, which will be their heaviest album yet! The release of this album will coincide with the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's "Nevermind", sometime in 2011. Here I talk about what members of the Foo Fighters were up to during their brief hiatus, and their plans for a brand new album!

Dave Grohl talks about the Foo Fighter's 7th album:

UPDATE (April 14): The new Foo Fighters album "Wasting Light" has finally arrived! It's been awesome talking with all of you about it. I think it's amazing, and was definitely worth the wait!

  • i heard that krist is gonna play bass on the album its only going to be one song though but it will still be sweet to here dave and krist play together again.

  • @RockerGirl162 This is great news, before the Foos officially announced this I suspected that Krist might be playing on the album since there were a few pics of him on their twitter updates for the recording process!

  • They never were breaking up. Hiatus and breaking up are two entirely different things.

  • @foofighterr1 I totally agree with you. I said "the Foo Fighters aren't breaking up" because I've been debating against other Foo Fighters fans for the last 2 years, who were convinced that the Foo Fighters were breaking up! This video is proof that the Foos are working on a new album and not breaking up!

  • By hardcore I really hope they don't go all out screamo lol

  • @Vide0sPlz lol I hope they have more songs like "Watershed" and "Weenie Beenie" instead of stuff like "Aurora" and "Home" (though those are still great songs). According to their tweets they're very close to starting the recording process! I predict it won't take that long to record, since they're aiming for a raw album (sounding like the old school Foo Fighters era!)

  • THE ALBUM IS FINISHED! :D

  • i hope they get a little more heavy, like the song the pretender, at least a harder voice like that song, it would sound amazing given what i expect from Dave and Krist

  • Maybe its a Nevermind tribute album? It most likely wont though...

  • I have a bad feeling about the recordings out of dave's garage and Vig producing it. I feel like Grohl wants to make another hard album but nothing will ever touch the self titled album. Dave tried to top it with the first cd of in your honor album, and it was just way overproduced and hardly any of the songs are played in their recent setlists.

I'm glad TCV has inspired him for another album, but hopefully he can draw the lines.

  • They have Announced that they are Recording with old Amps and they aren't gonna Edit it :D

  • @mgnewageD479 I'm having so much fun following the progress of the new Foos album on their twitter!
