The Cardiologist can evaluate an individuals' Heart Health with an Exercise Stress Test. The Exercise Stress Test evaluates the individuals Heart Health while walking at a brisk pace on a Treadmill. There is an age-adjusted Target Heart Rate that must be reached in order to be able to make the test results clinically valid. For some individuals the test may need to be terminated prematurely due to symptoms consistant with Ischemia, or due to fatigue. There is real-time EKG monitoring, and monitoring for any signs or symptoms of ischmia. The individual is monitored during the entire test, and for a recovery period after the Exercise Stress Test. The findings of the Exercise Stress Test will be evaluated by the Cardiologist, and combined with other test findings in determining the plan of care.
