Members of the animal rights group Mercy For Animals confront
attendees of the United Egg Producers' (UEP) annual board meeting in
downtown Chicago on October 17, 2007. The protest raised awareness to
the mutilation and intensive confinement of the nation's 250 million

The UEP, a trade agency representing more than 80 percent of egg
factories, allows its members to cut off the beaks of baby chicks and
cram five-to-six hens in tiny, wire cages so small each bird is given
less space than a notebook-size piece of paper. The birds are forced
to spend their lives in a cramped position, unable to even stretch
their wings, let alone engage in other natural behaviors such as
walking, dust bathing, or perching.

yes they do. They are just fed organic food. I am a vegan and am starting to buy organic only. Yet I do know for a fact that they are treated the same no matter what sadly. There is no way to get meat, milk, or eggs in a humane way..xo

I'm sick of just protesting this on Youtube. It's time to do more. This inhumane (now there's an oxymoron) abuse of animals must stop. I'm going to tell everyone I know about this, and send them all links to this video. Thanks for posting it and helping to spread the word. Go vegan!!

Did you know chickens are more trainable than dogs and about as intelligent as some types of primates? Chickens can be taught to come when called, walk on leases, play simple songs on mini keyboards, and use litterboxes, among other things. Chickens are loving, friendly birds that form life-long relationships with other animals and people. Chickens in good care can live up to 20 years old but in factory farms, they are killed when they are 6 weeks old!
