A Lufthansa Airbus A340-600 bound for Munich aborted take-off as an Egyptair Plane is nearing the runway. You can hear the captains announcement (in german and english). Only when we arrived back at the gate we were told what happened. Major advantage of the whole thing was the fact that we had quite a nice sunset while flying by the coast of Long Island.

  • Please tell me you recorded the actual braking part....

  • You could hear the adrenaline in his voice, both German and English. Too bad we could not see the actual braking. Good piloting by LH411 cap (I assume he was at the helm). It will be interesting to read the full report on this one.

  • @rachaelmatt LOL. I meant A320. Not sure how that typo happened... 9 and 2 are so close together, you know?

  • I've taken flights 410 and 411 and never had the problem, but my brother was on this flight.

  • @comcfi yes

  • OMG ARE THEY DIED

  • Yup I heard the ATC com on liveatc.....interesting

  • I can't believe they have advertising on the jetways. How much further can they cheapen the flying experience? Disgusting.

  • @twidgetfitch LOL! Airbus A390 doesn't exist...

  • Great opprotunity, would have liked to see more of th egypt air and and the spool op on actual takeoff

  • @twidgetfitch I wasn't aware that there was such a plane as an Airbus A390...

  • I was on a Airbus A390 US Airways flight that had to abort takeoff, due to an engine problem - we most likely sucked in a hawk. The braking was unbelievable. I had no idea a plane could stop so fast. The braking was more intense than on a normal landing, and both of our engines were smoking hard when we came to a stop. I missed my connecting flight of course!
