200 PEOPLE DECLARE THEIR LOVE FOR MONTREAL AT THE LOVE MOB
More than 200 people came together to declare their love for Montreal, and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of John Lennon and Yoko Onos Bed-In.
With an MP3 player in their hands, headphones in their ears and a special audio track to guide them, the participants staged the worlds first bilingual MP3 flash mob.
So what is an MP3 flash mob, anyway?
A flash mob is a gathering of a group of people in a public place to do something specific before dispersing. Promoted via social media on the web and by word of mouth, the flash mob brings together participants who generally do not know one another, and is kept secret until the last minute. The MP3 flash mob invites participants to download an MP3 audio file, which they then listen to at a prescribed place and time to hear the instructions for the event. This kind of flash mob is inspired by the MP3 Experiment created by Improv Everywhere.
