  • I used to live there and work at Cumberland Airlines 1982-1986 that brings back old memories!

  • Power goes out there once in a while and traffic doesn't back up like that.............as if traffic would flow better without the lights there at all. Just put up linking reds and be done with it

  • I lived in Cumberland about 20 years ago and the Virginia Avenue traffic light was bad then.

  • Thank you, I sit through this twice a day

  • Way to go Albert!!!!! Someone finally spoke loud enough for the city to hear them.......Congratulations on making the front page of our local newspaper "The Times-News" for today, March 13, 2011............i live in frostburg, but my mother lives on Arch Street and my sister a few streets prior....that light is horrid!!! Thank you :)

  • Even though I am not from Cumberland, I travel this way a lot from Winchester and I really hate this light. I would like to see a new light come in with better timing someday really soon.

  • This light does suck....Ive lived on arch street for most of my life and my mother still does live there....we would do anything to avoid these lights! Good POINT!

  • I've been at that a hundred times. It's a long light on the e/w due to the n/s road (va ave) is one lane and is at near 100% at most times of the day. People tell me rt28 is a 11-12 minute wait during 6:30-9 am.

  • I live close to this, I don't see this light in my everyday travel but every time I have to go into Cumberland I DREAD having to go anywhere near Virginia ave. I've sat at this light for more than 2and a half minutes before and it is utterly ridiculous when the traffic volume is high as in high noon and late afternoon. I think that this needs to be fixed asap. It'll save us money and it would bring more development into the surrounding area.
