This was a panniculectomy, not abdomnioplasty (aka: tummy tuck). The panniculectomy removes the pannus only. Abdomnioplasty covers the whole abdomen up to the rib cage. The pannus is also removed along with a little more, often from just above the belly button and stretched down to just above the pubic hair line. With Abdomnioplasty a new belly button hole is cut and reattached to the existing belly button stem.
Mind you we didn't see what the rest of the procedure was like, but what they showed us in the video was the Panniculectomy part of the procedure. I hope this helps clear things up for everyone! :-) I will continue to post on my Youtube the rest of my continued adventure with my procedure and progress! You are welcome to follow along on my journey!
A TT involves tightening the stomach muscles, by suturing the muscle closer together, as well contouring the body to give it a better shape which is where the re-alignment of the belly button comes in. What you are witnessing here is just a Panniculectomy with Lipo. He did not re-shape the body and give patient a new belly button.
Panniculectomy is pretty much the same thing as the Tummy tuck when your already pretty skinny.. because there is NOTHING for the dr to really remove, but he gets to CALL it a tummy tuck and charge the same amount, while doing less work because of how little there is to suck out or cut off! The two procedures basically only differ when dealing with OVER WEIGHT patients, not the kinds your seeing in the videos here on youtube lol! I go for mine July 15th, 2011.. :-)
the dr, seems to do this procedure extremely rough. i will be having the same procedure done and i hope my dr. will be much more considerate!
