One of my all time greatest footy matches, I was only 8 years old at the time but remember it like yesterday. Alan Smith got the first, and Michael Thomas got the crucial second goal late on in the game, what a night that was!

This match if you were to put it in modern context... Would be like Tottenham having to go to Old Trafford on the last day of the season and needing to beat them by 2-0.

Im sorry Man City, what you did in this era was great, but beating a team which had dominated English football for 20 years by 2 goals at home after not beating them for 13 games at home... this is the greatest finish to a league season of all time.
