  • Nice shot! I think these birds really prefer building their nests in the eaves of houses. I have one nice birdhouse specially for them but none ever used it to make it its home. Your video gave me an idea. Thanks.

  • Thanks! I put up a sparrow 'terrace' but in three years they've never shown any interest in it - the Great Tits love it though. This shelf was actually put up to attract swallows. It is part of a sequence that will be going in a DVD of wildlife in our garden that will be produced later this year.

  • @cribdinchope - oops! forgot! we have geckos coming out at night and they might feed on the sparrows and their eggs. i would have to reconsider that. too bad!

  • @LN30954 - thanks. your sparrow terrace is a wonderful idea. we have many house sparrows where i live. they do come and eat from my bird feeder but i like to see them build their nests.. and have eggs in them. well, if they get tired of it in time.. that's ok. best of luck in your dvd of wildlife this year.
