I just don't get why they had to change Derpy's name.

Derpy may mean retarded, but that is a SYNONYM for retard. The fans had absolutely no intentions of calling Derpy a retard (derpy=cross eyed, clumsy) when they named her (besides maybe haters). It's like the word gay-it means happy, but it's also a synonym for homosexual.

Honestly, it disappoints me how a few people complained because they live off making others feel terrible by pointing out every offensive thing they can find.

Did you know that the actress who voiced Derpy said she thought Derpy was a guy? True story. She gave Derpy a guy's (or what she thought was a guy's voice) and it still made fans all over the world squeal. Gotta love MLP. <3

it is so rare when a cartoon will care enough about its fans to bring one of their characters to life, Derpy seems to be a little MC, but lets face it that's how many of you pointed her out in the crowd in the first episode. There's nothing wrong with that at all, she seems to be a kind fun loving character just a little clumsy. The amount of it was a bit far fetched but hey that's animation. MLP should be commended for the support and at least trying to bring to life a character you all love.

yeah derpy is gone its the name i think maybe it was the name that they removed it so kids would not call kids derpy if they let derpy stay in the show then later on the show will be canceled so derpy is gone........but not on the internet

Maybe it's becuase i am autisitic, but i never saw her as mentally hadicapped until someone else raised hell about it. I could see that know, but i just see her as a clumsy character for comic relief

Let me tell you a story. I have Asbergers Syndrome. I had a hard time fitting in to the social structure of my small school. But through very hard work, I was able to keep my Asbergers in check while still being In-character Now, If i saw a TV show with a Asberger character, and then it was suddenly changed, I would be offended, not because he or she had Asbergers, but because they changed it to avoid conflict. It's not fair to do something like this. It's on the verge of being unspeakable.
