ok so, I listened to some of your covers and then, lo and behold, I find out that you cover my favourite song EVER! And beautifully as well... I'm a fan, keep up the incredible work.

This is a great version. Your a good musician. Thanks for the solo. I had never heard this song prior to hearing a version, a couple of weeks, done by Hedges (circa 1985). Then when I saw John's version with Kathy Mattea (circa 1995); well then I had to learn the song. Your You tube version made it easy to learn. Thanks man.
The problem with so many John Martyn covers I think is that they completely lack feel. it doesn't have to be exactly the same as the original (and there wouldn't be any real point in trying to do that anyway) but there still has to be some kind of feel and emotion there. This is by far one of the best John Martyn covers I've seen on YouTube. Your voice is warm and expressive and the guitar playing is rhythmic and percussive. A wonderful and sympathetic cover, thanks for sharing it. :-)

John's leg is probably turning in the grave but I must admit the quality of your voice covers for the absence of "fuck off" grit that's apparent in the original.

I've not heard the original on record but all of the live versions that I have seen John do have seemed quite gentle...it is a "love" song after all - at least thats the way I have interpretted it. Appreciate the honest comment though :-)
