While I'm not a professional face carver, over the years I have developed my own way of doing it and hopefully this video will offer some guidance to an aspiring new woodcarver. You can visit my blog at http://woodtrails.blogspot.com for a lot more information on my carving projects.

  • Mouseboy: I used sourwood on this stick which along with dogwood are my favorite woods for walking sticks. It is native to the Appalachian mountains from Pennsylvania southward and to my knowledge it doesn't grow anywhere else. Thanks for the rating!

I agree with you. Because of that kit

    offered by the site:

    TopWoodWorking.info

I produced fitted furniture that my

daughter was highly delighted by it

and can safely say that her room are

a whole lot tidier. That kit really gave

    me a great helped!

  • Thanks great video

  • Excellent job. I am getting into wood carving and I love the old school cigar store Indian style carvings. The one thing I would still like to see is video of your technique of actually using the carving tools. I will check out your other videos and blog and hopefully learn more from you. Thanks!

  • I would like to have a go at making my own stick but I live in the UK what kind of wood do you recomend ?

  • why there is a 1 dislike ? :)) who is that blind man ?

  • Thanks, found it to be very informative!

  • @ajk661984 Correct it's native american. Black americans are native to Africa, White to europe the "indians" were the original inhabitants of America so are native to America - native americans.

  • This isn't racist. LOL xD

  • How can i protect the wood or is it naturally able to do protect itself?
