It's funny how US audiences are surprised to see Hugh playing such silly roles, but here in the UK we're surprised to Hugh playing serious roles.

@finehomemadewine That's because the interview is actually a lesson for the students at the New School. So Mr. Lipton's agenda is to illustrate to THEM how a person becomes an actor--from the time they were young, to the time present--and how they do their job (as there are many ways to be a great actor--obviously!) It's one of my favorite shows.

and that's a fact!

They're both so young and lanky!

I agree with horizon, and I must point out I love Hugh! If he`s playing bad acting, then I`m bettah then I think (: I feel much better everytime i watch hugh

How is it weird for one group of people to look up to another, and the one being looked up to not returning it? It happens with the middle and upper classes, with older and younger brothers, etc.

i think its weird that most americans adore brtish accents but birtish people dont think much of us or at least thats how i think it is

I agree. I was one of those complaining of Mr. Lipton before, considered him a dull being, very unsympathetic. The more more I watched of him, though, the more I understood the rarity of his style of interviewing. His straightforward and no fawning really makes one respect the fellow. Lipton doesn't seem so full of himself, as other interviewers seem to be, nowadays.
The host, this Mr. Lipton- it is rally refreshing kind of TV host, he actually is kind to his guests. He really makes the program fun. (Instead of pushing forward his sorrows and envy as most of them do nows days).

I agree, yknow on the surface he seems like the most boring person in the world. But what he does in hes questioning guests are both entertaining and genius. A kind of being funny, without being a jackass. I like that.
