Did you teach at a school in America first, or did you just get a degree and go straight to teaching overseas?

Yep, after being stranded in the outskirts of a small city, I got tired of Korea. Glad you're having a good time though ;) Thanks for the comment.

I started teaching in Korea right after graduating from university. I didn't have any classroom teaching experience, besides acting as a teacher's assistant.

Really put things in perspective for me! I am really interested in different cultures especially China and Korea. I want to live in both countries, but im having a hard time thinking what to do. I was planning on living in China at a Shaolin school for awhile, then teach in Korea. But I am having a hard time choosing what I want to do first, or if I should do it. How is life like in China and Korea? Do you like it? Which do you prefer? Thank you so much for the video!

@KatelinsLife For me personally I prefer China to Korea 1,000 to 1. In general 1) Chinese do not exclude foreigners as consistantly as Koreans, 2) China seems less anxious to assimilate Westerna Culture, and the connection to the past is much more palpable than in Korea, in the architecture for example 3) I find Chinese infinitely easier than Korean to learn. It depends on what you're looking for though. If seeking cultural enrichment, go to China. If you have money issues, though, Korea.

@jikky6000 Glad you found it helpful--really! There are too many agencies out there that want to paint a wonderful rosey picture of what it's like at this or that academy. It's usually a different story on the ground, though. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
