@theGREATcoolio It's not just Japan. The international music industry in general focuses more on looks than talent.

いつの日か、日本にも、この位、楽しい日常が来ますように。
特に、被災者の方々が、この楽しさを実感できる日が1日でも1時
間でも1分でも1秒でも早く訪れますように。。。

Miho has an inspirational voice in English and Japanese. I wish my organization could host her with our choir... She is reserved in this performance, but trust me... she has the chops! A powerhouse voice! Futari des, moshi anata ga, hima naraba!

Miho put it down. There are so many credible Japanese artists (Jay'ed, Ken Hirai, Misia, Mai Fukui, Hikaru Utada). Even Mika Nakashima. And they actually sing many songs with no autotune, many times with just piano for backup. I'd love to see Mariah Carey put out one single with just her and a piano with no echo.
It sucks that the majority of the japanese focus more on the looks of their jpop idols or if they have "kawaii" qualities rather than focusing on pure talent some singers have like Miho. Useless girl groups like AKB48 with like 50 girls in one band is just stupid and lame. These girls who think being under tons of make up and making fools of themselves on stage thinking they have talent are one of the many idols that girls (in this case) look up to. Im not bashing japan I myself am full japanese

@theGREATcoolio The way of Japanese music world to match the focus is certainly bad. There are a lot of singers who have the talent also in Japan. However, such a singer is not supported in Japan though is a regrettable thing.
