This is a portrait of Rosario Dawson. I built and painted the contraption. It took a couple of weeks. This is my first attempt at a wood mechanism. I had fun and I hope to make a lot more. I have so many ideas.

  • That shit is fly, brother. Her likeness is crazy good. Question- When you paint portraits like this, do you prefer to work with acrylics in a more opaque manner or with thin glazes?

  • @TheMark180 Thank you.

I prefer to use opaque acrylics when painting portraits on wood. It makes painting time go faster. You get a lot better coverage and I don't have to keep adding layer after layer with opaques.

I like to use thin glazes when I'm painting the backgrounds with random drips and splashes. That's when I don't mind them. Also great when painting on watercolor paper.

  • Why is your hair moving? LOL! Just kidding.

  • @clownfishx You must be talking about my hairy arms. :]

  • AMAZING! truly fantastic! I love your style. I want one!!! How long did it take you to do?

  • @TheEminess Thank you. It took me about three weeks of free time to build it. But it only took about eight hours to paint it. :]
