Never seen one of these before! At first it looked like a plant had grown tentacles or something, so I grabbed my video camera and then saw it was a worm of some sort. Had to look it up in the web. "They develop as parasites in the bodies of grasshoppers, crickets, cockroaches, and some beetles. When mature, they leave the host to lay eggs. These interesting creatures are not parasites of humans, livestock, or pets and pose no public health threat."
