NYGH's 2011 Toy Drive

Michael Coteau, MPP for Don Valley East, and members of the Toronto Fire Services joined Dr. Tim Rutledge, President & CEO of North York General Hospital, to make a special delivery to the children at the hospital on December 14 . The majority of the firefighters were from Station 116, the station closest to the hospital.

While the holiday season can be a magical time, it can be particularly difficult for young patients and families in hospital.

To lift their spirits, "Santa's Helper" Michael Coteau and Toronto firefighters brought holiday cheer to our young patients. Their first stop was the Child and Teen Unit, followed by visits to various units throughout the hospital.

The toys were collected as part of a community and staff toy drive for children who will be staying in the hospital during the holiday season.
