My Teacher, the former Principal Trumpet of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra plays the beautiful solo from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. Mr. Parcells was the Principal Trumpet of the DSO from 1982-2010, and before that was the Principal Trumpet of the Winnepeg Symphony Orchestra in Canada for 12 years. He was and continues to be a huge inspiration for me, and a great reminder of the beautiful music that was once coming from Orchestra Hall in Detroit, Michigan. Hopefully it will resume sometime soon!
