@poultrycrazy CAE stands for Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis, it can be a devastating disease, however, goats can live with it and not express any symptoms. You can keep CAE positive does separate from the rest of the herd and it is possible to get CAE negative kids from her as long as she is not allowed to nurse them. Whatever milk from a CAE positive doe must be pasteurized before giving it to other kids. Colostrum is produced for the first week (approx.) and you give that to the kids.
