Skinning for a Shoulder Mount

Whenever I kill an animal there is always a moment of remorse and respect for life. I hunt for meat because I am poor, and it saves me money. I think all kids should hunt. It teaches a one to respect life. If a young boy or girl realize that when you shoot something it dies they might not be so eager to take a gun to school and start firing. Hunting brings the reality of death up close. It is a valuble thing to respect life. Hunting helps that respect for life, become a reality.

@bullgom - Depends if you have done it before and how many people are helping. At least a few hours to totally skin, quarter, and hang.

How long does it take to skin a moose? Man looks like it might take all day.

@princiipitho - I agree 100%. And hunting teaches you all about respect, wildlife, ethics, and nature.

Hi, I'm from chile and my country always instilled in us that we should respect animals

I enjoy anti hunters take on the proper way to live ones life. I have twice the compassion for animals as I do for humans. Being a vegetarian does not make one the authority on the morality of life and death. Respect for animals who give their life is what is important as a hunter. I will be the first to say that watching a ridiculous hunting show with "Death Metal Music" playing in the background is juvenile. People are far to disconnected from where their food comes from and how it got there
Does cutting a V at the noggin not mess up the mounting?

Correct.

You guys are ignorant; just plain do not know. This moose was harvested to EAT; the skinning and mounting of it is a reminder trophy of the experience; otherwise it would go to waste. A moose can feed a family for a year, I know I get one just about every year and it's sooo much healthier than beef, pork or chicken. It tastes good and there really is no need to get so excited about lifestyles you know nothing about. You stay near your Starbucks and Kroegers, we'll take the woods and God.
