Test driving Senator J626 to check out the engine and gearbox. All appears to be in perfect working order including the Sport mode of the auto gearbox. The engine is smooth and powerful, with no untoward noises.

The AR35 auto gearbox is sold. The engine is for sale as seen and heard in these videos.

P.S 'alextilson' im ashamed of you for scrapping your old one, never never never scrap them, they are a rare and have become a very cult classic car, you should of joined a 'Vauxhall' club and sold it on for spares, someone would of made good use of it, now thanks to you, there is one less on the road, tut tut.lol

Yes we still have the Senator but it is about to be scrapped as of 24 Nov 09, too rusty for MOT sadly. The engine is still in the car and can be heard running, in fact it was started up only a few minutes ago. See my eBay listings if you want to buy it!

wow in australia we call these VN statesman's and the look slightly different but we have an optoin of 3.8 buick v6 or 5.0 v8

fantastic motors, i had a 89 "G" reg from new, with a 3.0ltr engine, with leather seats, it was scrapped last year as the under carrage was rotten and beyond ecomonical repair, (never had any cause to return it to the dealer,) kept up with the service, and it was a fantastic motor, I made the mistake of buying a Omega (they are rubbish it spends more time in the garage) "big end bearings rattling" and valve oil seals gone, (crap car with shit engines) and thats the 3.0 engine, (V6)
