@JogBird Sad, that you haven't experienced the unconditional love of a pet. Now, look at ya, angry and bitter. Shoulda had a cat. You would have ended up as better human.

I love my animals. I would do anything for them.

I loved my cat A LOT, but he would have had to live with his limp. $20k GTFOH

@Cirin29 Except you don't know if it was their money. "Much of the work was donated" at the North Carolina State University. A public university. Recipient of tax dollars. Many millions of them.
As I said, I don't even mind this as long as these people are willing to put up the tax dollars to give all Americans healthcare coverage so we can provide similar care to human beings as her cats are getting. Cuz right now lots of humans don't get this kind of care. They can't afford it.

Yes the general idea is not new but the idea behind the design maybe.. besides why shouldn't a beloved family member get good care, furry or not. And again.. it is her money and her cat.
-
Was this really necessary?
Yeah I had to get one of these for my cat because he used to sneak around a lot at night but then he took an arrow in the knee.

@afterapplepicking You do realize that these types of medical procedures are used to test news ideas and designs on animals first and are then used on humans.. This way the company can use the good press and the medical engineers and Dr.s can see if it works. Besides.. the owner is paying a large portion of it.. it's her money she can spend it how she wants.
