In the last decade information communications technologies (ICT) have transformed an industrial society to one that is globally connected and knowledge-driven. This presentation will identify the work being undertaken by the Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL) program in Ontario, Canada to ensure learners have the e-competencies to become skillful users of the tools of the 21st century. It will focus on learning strategies and system wide implementation thinking and planning that ensure learning opportunities are in place to support successful and engaged digital citizens. Informed by research and using evidence gathered from the field this session highlights an education implementation strategy that is sustainable and develops capacity for promoting contemporary learning practice.
