In his June 7, 2009 sermon, pastor Greg Boyd expands on his "Animate" series in which he teaches a Biblical use of the imagination in prayer. Boyd believes John Calvin held a negative view towards using our mind's eye in the worship of God. And, unfortunately, over the years, Calvin's influence has biased many protestants against this practice. Greg Boyd's full sermon can be heard or viewed here: http://www.whchurch.org/content/page_910.htm

  • I'm just sik of Calvinists who pretend that new creation etc etc was always part of their theology, which is was in theory but is totally missing from their practise. so when they criticize ppl like Boyd and NT Wright, they argue that 'we believed it b4 u did'. But their practise so utterly denies new creation and is platonic in action! thanks Greg we really do need to discover beauty, b/c God's very good creation is beautiful. And the Calvinists, who c sin everywhere are prolly still in bondage

  • Right, no shoes. Get's hot up on the stage, especially after two large services. Hopefully it doesn't distract you from what he said.

  • Amen! This was so cool! I'm going to download the three-part series.

  • is he not wearing shoes?
