@Masterblaster9001 Why am I even arguing with someone with 9001 in their name?
-
@Shinkada No. The "advanced" sphere grid was an option given to you at the start of the game. In addition, its potential is lower. There are less stat boosts on it than the default grid. There are no individual null spells, they all affect the party. And you obviously aren't advanced if you had to resort to grinding.
-
@Masterblaster9001 The advanced grid was the default in the international version, and the version everyone used because its potential was higher iirc. But more over it was the default. Also I'm plenty advanced enough, I got through the game with it and beat most of the optional bosses before I got bored. Yuna did learn the null spells first, but only the individual ones, not the party ones.

There was the "advanced" grid that was added in the International release of the game, but if you picked that in spite of obviously not being an advanced player you were asking for it anyway. Also, I've never used it. But I am 100% certain that the first 5 spells Yuna learns are the null spells. And yes, Zuus sound like "The enemy that hit twice as much as everything else", because there was only 1 at a time.
-
@Masterblaster9001 Weren't there two different sphere grid types? I remember party shields being ONE of the paths but not the only one. And I definitely remember not having them at second Seymour. Dunno about Zuus because I don't even remember if that was the enemy that just randomly hit for twice as much as everything else or whatever.
-
@Shinkada Again, the party shields is the first spellset Yuna learns. You can't avoid them unless you just skip them.
And the Zuu, you're supposed to haste tidus, slow the zuu, then blind it when wakka joins. Pretty simple.
-
@Masterblaster9001 Yeah, when you wash up on the beach. I don't remember which enemies, I just remember one of them doing and taking obscene amounts of damage and just generally having high numbers. Seymour, I meant the second time when he gets the party-hitting ones and the little 'bit' type enemy to soak up the shields. Kinda screwed if you didn't take the 'party shields' path.
-
@Shinkada What? You mean when you wash up on the beach in the desert? Those encounters are easy. The only one that could be considered difficult would be the Zu enemies and you just use dark shot on them to blind them. As for Seymour, the first spells Yuna learns are the Null spells, why wouldn't you have them at that point? Of course bosses would be easier a second time around, but even on the first time they're more than forgiving enough to make a mistake and still win.
-
@Masterblaster9001 There was that one bit of FFX after fighting Sin where you wash up on the beach... The random encounters after that were a NIGHTMARE and absolutely required grinding. Also second Seymour fight, unless you somehow psychicly knew getting the otherwise crappy multi-person element shields was so essential. Bosses would be easier for you, because you've played it multiple times and know what spells, abilities, and/or tactics you need/are op.
-
@Shinkada Uh, no? If you're fighting every random encounter, which I DID NOT do, then bosses would be EASIER, unless you're playing FF8. The only way you can have trouble is if you haven't been exploring and opening chests, and keeping your equipment and inventory up to date. In which case, get serious.
FUCK YES, you are the best Final Boss music EVER.

I think I might have to agree.
