RTA - Mates (Australia)

Well, this is the oldest RTA advert I have from New South Wales, and it's a corker. Although, I don't quite understand the accident. For one, you'd expect him to understeer to the left. But he turns around to talk to his mate, gets distracted and goes to the right. Then quickly to the left to avoid the coach. So if anything it's a distraction advert, not a speeding one. Although you can of course say "the slower he goes, he might have had a chance to stop". Anyway, bottom line is, the impact into the tree is easily the best I've seen ever on an advert :p

im not sure why the driver thought he needed to look at his mate while having a conversation, why on earth would you take your eyes off the road at all and worst of all before a corner lol AND FFS DONT DRIVE A CAR YOU CANNOT HANDLE hahaha too many crashes happen as a result of inexperience it should be mandatory to all license holders to do an evasive driving course to prevent you losing control in a crisis

I have to admit, I never really understood this advert either. It's not really the speed issue, it's the fact that he looked at his mate, didn't control his car, and flew off the side when he tried to correct. He could have been going much faster and kept going fine around that corner.

Ouch, i feel sorry for the bus driver, i think he would have been thinking when he stepped back "eek what a mess" this should be shown on tv, it would be very effective

I bet that bus driver started to chunder, chiefly because he comes from the land down under. I'm willing to bet he heard the thunder so now he's running and he's going to take cover.

5/10. Must try harder. I love how he steps back though. Shame the kids didn't go for a look too. I'll imagine the boys would go "COOOOL BLOOD!" and the girls would whine :|

Ute drivers are just shit in general.

I have no idea why. I have a mate who drives a ute and he goes flat out around every corner.

Why does the RTA film all these ads around Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area.

I'm PRETTY sure they weren't actually in the car when it hit the tree - they just did it for TV. Maybe the bus driver was shocked because there was no bodies in the car, and how was the car driving then? it was a confused/shocked look. Quite remarkable really.

if nsw government wanted to save lives they would invest the money they waste on fake advertising and spend it on heart disease reasearch. the number 1 killer
