i love ballet and have been doing it for like ten years, i pracitice reeeeeeaaally hard! but still i am no good at pointe, this is because my feet and ankles are just too weak, so if you beleive you are ready for pointe aged 11 or so then do it but your feet will not be fully developed and if you do injure yourself it will be harder to recover.. :/ x

no one is saying that you can't do double pirouettes or something, we're saying that you risk injuring your feet. "HPmad12" said it very good. so chill girl ;)

Uh musicislife123777, if ballet didn't have anyone in it. It wouldn't be ballet. It would just be music.

There is no garuntee you will have any problems. But you do potentially put yourself at a higher risk of shortening the life of your dance career.

If you sprained your ankle in point, that just means your feet weren't ready for point. I got my first point shoes at 12 years old, & I never had blisters & I never sprained my ankle. After 27 years of dance, I've never had either of that happen to me.
