The Advanced Human Interface Group at the MIT Media Lab, run by Richard A. Bolt, had the goal of realizing multi-modal interface, that is, systems that allow one to gesture and speak (productively) to computers. This video is from 1994. David B. Koons, Carlton J. Sparrell, Kristinn R. Thorisson, Christopher R. Wren, David L. Berger, Gregory Spurrier. The object-oriented, networked graphics and animation system was called mverse and was the creation of Michael P. Johnson and Christopher R. Wren who were undergraduates at the time.
