  • At 8:58....in the days prior to the "wave around rule"...Crawford was the leader, but was the 8th or 9th car in line. Antiquated USAC rules.

  • Lol if that was to happen today, the internet would be a buzz with conspiracy of Roger Penske having someone purposely throw a can on the track to bring out the yellow after one of his cars let his other car get back on the lead lap.

  • Yep, a yellow flag for a beer can. The type of wheels that Indy cars have would put one of the cars into a wall if it clipped it or ran over it. That's the danger of wide smooth wheels. On the outside it sounds odd, but logically it makes a whole lot of sense.
