If you wanna get to heaven let me tell you how
Keep your hand on the gospel plow
Hold on (3x's)
Mary had a golden chain
Every link spelled Jesus' name
Hold on (3x's)
Mary had a golden chain
Hold on
If you wanna get to heaven let me tell you how
Keep your hand on the gospel plow

Waking up without you now I'm on my own
Coming down the sky burns into my soul
And I wanna know that you're mine
I gotta know you're mine

Come on back tomorrow said you'll be all right
I'll never find the way now to kill the time

And I wanna know what's in your mind
I gotta know you're mine

And I fell alone
And my dreams are torn

You're not at all
Not at all
Not at all
Who you say you are
Gotta know
Gotta know
Gotta know where
You're going
Waking up without you girl...

  • Personally, I prefer the fact that they're not as huge as some of the other bands of the time, they appear alot more human and far less corporate. Plus it's always irritating when you love a band that's entered the mainstream and get lumped into the same category as the screaming 12 year old MTVtards who jump the popular-bandwagon.

  • these guys or so frigging radical i dont know how they didnt get to be a huge success!!!

  • @000TwistedFreak Good call.

  • Great band! Caught them in Dallas in '96, and they were really on! Highly underrated.

  • @tacosnachosburritos

Too bad you missed out. They were ferocious onstage. Particularly guitarist Lee Conner. And, when they added Barrett Martin on drums for Sweet Oblivion, he gave the band a unique roar among the rest of the major label local bands rivaled only by Soundgarden.

  • lead guitarist is like a fat john frusciante

  • @mythicaljake - I agree, but it also means that lots of people who would have heard and enjoyed their brilliance, didn't. Doesn't help the lads pay the bills, either.

  • always takes me back 2 the days when ah said 2 ma wee bro ure music isnae tht gd but inside he discovered somethin majic.... n ah felt like a complete douchebag..... heehee great band screaming trees.....

  • Lots of energy in this song, especially when you see them play at 1:30, crowd's into it. Just all round tight performance.
