    I can sing like most of them but Mario is one of the hardest to imitate well-- he puts such power into his finishes. As you know, he, too, had his weight problems. Are those your books, below? Who's the publisher(s)?

    No, Mario did not but Callas admired him and wanted to sing with him, possibly in a concert tour. It would have been a marvelous combination. I mention this in my book about Lanza. It includes comments from many artists who knew him and admired him including Pavarotti, Domingo and Callas.

    Amazing! Pavarotti's idol was Mario Lanza who was, arguably, the greatest tenor and singer of all time. He had a remarkable voice and crossed over successfully into popular songs, rose to be a global movie star, concert performer and tv personality in the span of a decade. His legacy is with us in his recordings.
