The Ape from 1940 is a rare classic horror film starring Boris Karloff. Made during the so called second coming of the horror talkies, this was one of the many extremely cheap films that were cranked out solely with the help of the reputation of actors such as Karloff or Bela Lugosi. Karloff once again returns to his staple role as the well-meaning scientist whose good intention turns to bad when he encounters a giant ape. Classic-horror.com describes the film as "a movie about a guy in a gorilla suit who kills people for spinal fluid". Nuff said.
