Dan Synder is the best owner ever. At least if you ask prospective NFL free agents. From Albert Haynesworth and his $41 million guaranteed, to Deion Sanders, to Adam Archu-really? The Redskins owner has famously overpaid for free agents time and time again (and that's not even counting Washington's mistake with the Ole Ball Coach).

As bad as some of the Redskins' signings have been recently, they are far from the only franchise that has made bad decisions, and wasted money, picking the wrong free agent. There are bad deals, and there are expensive deals, but we've assembled some of the worst.

Building a franchise in the NFL means making good decisions, and spending wisely. It means signing smart contracts and getting the most for your money. You will not find those examples here. Sure Elvis Grbac had an OK year, but when you sign for that much, management might not have planned for you to retire after 1 season. Hard to build a team around your golf game.

From bad QBs, to receivers that didn't produce, to linemen on both sides of the ball that just didn't live up to their money, the NFL is littered with decisions that have set back franchises.

Who else belongs on this list? What is your team's worst signing? Matt Millen may have perfected being a bad GM, but a lot of NFL front offices still try to give him a run for his money, at least on a one-off basis.

  • Haynesworth, I'm right there with you. Adam Archuletta, damn straight. But LeCharles Bentley? Anyone paying attention knows that wasn't that dude's fault. He wasn't a bad free agent. He signed with his hometown team whose facilities were so bad that after he injured himself, he developed a staph infection that ultimately ended his career. Dude was a beast on the field and would've been a hall of famer without all of that. I gotta call BS on that one.

  • It's obvious this guy hates the redskins. What about larry brown signing with the raiders. Your a bum you have no idea about football shut up.

  • @treyspcs well no shit

  • sanders was nice then

  • The only one that I didn't like was Sanders. He either shouldn't have been off the list or number 11.

  • @vivalabraggs yea but he got a small contract

  • emmit smith to the cardinals! cmon he had only 250 yards

  • notice most skins are blak

  • @fujirama24 But dude, the Redskins wasted 100 million dollars on a guy who mostly just sat on the bench and bitch how he wasn't getting paid enough who they ten traded later on. Adam Archuleta was waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy overpaid and they should've known that Deion Sanders was done. If you don't think that those are a terrible wastes of money, then you don't know football.

  • @fujirama24 the redskins is a team everyone loves to hate..... because they suck

  • elvis grbac is my uncle;(
