In this video we talk about Siser easyweed and Stripflock heat transfer T-shirt vinyl. A common question is can this material be layered. In this video we show that yes it can. We also demonstrate the use of Multi-use paper for making multi color designs.

Siser easyweed and stripflock vinyl are available from Expressions Vinyl for your Silhouette or Cricut machine. We size the material for these machines, but they are compatible with all cutters.

First you want to preheat your fabric. This does two things, removes wrinkles and moisture, both of which can cause application issues.

Then place your first heat transfer element.

When using a regular iron you will want to set it at the cotton blend setting. This is close to the 312 degrees required for application. When making a layered project the first layer only needs a quick press. With a regular iron this is about 5 seconds. Peel the carrier sheet immediately after the quick press.

Then place the next layer and do a quick press if there will be more layers. If this is the last layer do a full 15 second press.

Use the multi-use sheet to protect the vinyl that has had the carrier sheet removed. if the iron comes in to direct prolonged contact with the vinyl the vinyl will be ruined.

  • weeding is the process of removing the unwanted parts of your cutting. Yes ti does cut on a cricut. The process is a bit different from regular adhesive vinyl. We have another video that talks more specifically about cutting this material on a Cricut.
