Sorry, that is a very stupid comment.
Bicycles are not dangerous, cars are dangerous.
They polute the air, they trush all sort of living beings and they cause several wars.
Bikes make people fit, healthy, is cleaner for the environment. However, sometimes are accidents, and once you have an accident might be worse than with a car, but, the lack of activity for driving is worse in most countries.

Gotta get local planning committees to adopt multi-purpose road designs so that cars, cycles and pedestrians can safely coexist. In many cases, those stupid concrete sidewalks could be eliminated and paved into wide lanes for riding and walking.

@wwood14 Bicycles are not dangerous, cars are dangerous. When was the last time you heard bicycle runs into car driver car driver killed by impact.. Get real!

Besides which, wwood14 missed the important point that velomobiles are waaaay safer than normal bicycles.

@lsmike, I agree one-hundred percent with you. I am aware of the rare incident where a cyclist has injured a pedestrian, but I've never heard of a cyclist injuring a motor vehicle operator and do not expect to learn of such an incident.

Cyclists aren't really dangerous to others though, not like cars. It's drivers that kill 3,000 people per year in the UK. How many do you think are killed by cyclists?

Bicycles are not dangerous. Inanimate objects are neither dangerous nor safe. Unskilled, untrained, uneducated operators of bicycles are a danger to themselves and to others, as are unskilled, untrained, uneducated and inconsiderate operators of motor vehicles.

May accident reports that involve cyclists always seems to indicate that the driver "...did not see.." the cycle. By taking your lane, you can rule out that excuse. Ride on and be seen!
