@scania480 Hi, B-doubles max length is 25 metres, Roadtrains max is 53.5 metres. The weight depends on the amount of axles you have. You will see some tri-drive prime movers ( tractors) here. Loads of 150 tonnes gross is not uncommon on a full length roadtrain.

@rezek71 No, they're right hand drive, Australia drives on the left so the steering wheel is on the right.

I would love to have a go driving these beauties

@rezek71 Unless they're some kind of special purpose truck e.g. garbage truck, street sweeper, Australian vehicles are right hand drive. Have been since there were cars on the roads here. If you import something that's LHD, that's more than 25 years old, there's no requirement to convert it

A lot are using CNG these days

@calvinps no. I've seen 6
I told myself that, before I die, I'd visit Australia just to see how much these road trains put our US trucks to shame.
The drivers there seem so friendly, too.

Watching this, and other Road Train videos has shown me that we American truckers are spoiled rotten. We get asphalt and one long trailer, or two short ones. And I'll admit, when I'm at 80,000 lbs. and I get choked down in a pull, I get a little discouraged. So I can't imagine pulling three or four trailers on a dirt road going up a hill. I give full respect to these guys.
