"Show Me Your Soul" was a single released by the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1990. Originally a b-side from the singles of "Knock Me Down" and "Taste the Pain", it was featured on the Pretty Woman soundtrack. It was later released on the What Hits!? compilation album. According to the credits of What Hits!?, the song was produced by Fishbone's John Norwood Fisher. There was also a video made for the song, which featured the band in front of a Bluescreen, which is also very similar to the music video for "Higher Ground".

Lyrics:

In a world that can be so insane
I don't think it's very strange
For me to be in love with you
I wanna know more than your brain

Into my life you were injected
Not something that I expected
Now I smile from your affection
We have made a soul connection
Just for whom does your bell toll
Don't be cold show me your soul

Chorus
Sentimental Gentlemen are not afraid to show you when
I am you, you're my best friend
Show me your soul

Verse 2
In a world that can be so insane
I don't think it's very strange
For me to be in love with you
I wanna know more than your brain

Yes, I find you so appealing
When you show me how you're feeling
You, my friend, need not be kneeling
Open up and start revealing
Trust in me my heart is whole
I need to see, show me your soul

Chorus

Verse 3
In a world that can be so insane
I don't think it's very strange
For me to be in love with you
I wanna know more than your brain

Don't expect too much from me
Perfection is no test for me
Because the best I'll ever be
Is just like you: A human being
You won't offend, I need to know
Please, my friend, show me your soul

Chorus

  • @erikguitarguy what's a "stoer"?

  • this song is great. i think it is one of their better songs just because there aere a variety of instruments

  • @ericcarr21 I'm guessing that's what those three people are :L

  • the music from this song reminds me of one of the tracks from the Sonic CD game. :D

  • @TheGoldenChile Alright, sitting here with the actual booklet from What Hits!? and it clearly says that this song was written by Kiedis, Balzary, Smith, Frusciante. I figure that fact quite proves it.
