I don't make the rules.
If you have a problem with the rule write a letter to the Athletic Association.
-
@angryamerican you must be the biggest supporter of roughing the passer calls and whatnot.
-
This happens all the time at the college and pro levels so why is it so bad at the high school level? Whoever came up with such a rule should have the shit beaten out of them. There was nothing wrong with this. How would waiting until after he crossed the goal line to celebrate be any different than doing it before? That makes no sense. Seriously, I would go to that athletic assocation board and tell them to lighten the fuck up.

Fucking pussification of America.
Sorry you suck and he scored a touchdown.
-
Cathedral had their "victory " lunch or whatever with the mayor and blue hills is having fun at the state house and having their victory lunch as well..there ya go
-
Bullshit. It may be the rule, but any ref can see that he's not taunting.
-
Good call by the refs, stupid rule by the league. Players can't be excited? Bullshit. He didn't taunt anyone, or give anyone the finger, or do anything. He put his hand in the air because he was pumped.
-
@angryamerican you sure about that? cause I play in massachusetts and im pretty sure no one told me about that
-
I am calm. You were the one who commented at me.
And I didn't "go off". I answered YOUR question and responded to your comments with facts.

@angryamerican You're taking this way to serious. I just asked your opinion and you went off, its time to calm down.
@NailGun667
Incorrect.
Making ANY GESTURE before scoring a touchdown is considered taunting. All you are supposed to be doing is running, with the football tucked under your arm, DURING THE PLAY.
AFTER he scored the touchdown raising his arm in celebration would have been fine.
So let me make it very simple for you.
Raising arm AFTER scoring touchdown is fine.
Raising arm DURING play BEFORE scoring touchdown is a penalty.
The correct call was made.

Raising one's arm in celebration AFTER the touchdown is scored would have been fine.
However raising the arm in celebration DURING THE PLAY is taunting.
Very ignorant gesture by the kid, during the play, and the correct call was made.
He should have waited to celebrated until AFTER he scored the touchdown. That is the difference.
