Sitting on the sunny side of the Alps, Slovenia feels almost Tyrolean. In Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital and largest city with over 300,000 people, festivals fill the summer, sophisticated cafes thrive, and people enjoy Sunday strolls any day of the week. • I visited Ljulbljana for a week for a conference in 2010 and had a wonderful time. Really friendly people, wonderful architecture, and great for biking. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

  • i've heard slovenia is a sad place with high suicide rate, doesn't look like it though.

  • @Gingerorla Im from Slovenia but...

  • 01:40 is that Zizek?

  • Ljubljana je uz moj Zagreb meni najbolji grad!!

  • Hey I saw you on PBS

  • Im half slovenian and half croatian.....i really need to explore my sloveniann side more

  • I'm also fully half Slovenian, only 19, live in Ohio. Hope to someday branch out and check out my roots in Slovenia. Looks like a great country!!!

  • I am fully half Slovenian and was born and raised in the USA. I now live in Paris, France and hope to visit Slovenia soon. I have relatives there, perhaps. I keep meeting Slovenians here in France who speak perfect English with no accent whatsoever. If anyone can advise me on how to save money my first visit there, which may be alone as a woman in her 50s, I'd appreciate it. I loved Iceland but wasted a lot of money initially. Thanks!

  • My goodness, you can still see cars driving through the Prešeren's square! :D (0:51 - 0:56). Now it's closed for the traffic, and only walking zone. Thank god, it feels so good to walk there not worrying about car coming towards you. :D

I love Ljubljana, have been there as a student for two years. After finishing the studies, I wish to stay there. :)
